Belief Based on The Bible
Bible Based Belief
We have some core beliefs that we would like to share with you. These beliefs are central to who we are and what we do.
- Belief: We believe in God, who has created the world and loves all people. It is our desire to love one another as He has loved us.
- Belief: We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s Son, who became one of us in order to help us. He lived a perfect life and was crucified, taking the punishment for our sins. He rose from the grave after three days and is now reigning in heaven. He will return someday to judge mankind and take His people home for eternity.
- Belief: We believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God, which reveals God’s will for us through His powerful acts of love and mercy toward His people. It is our ultimate authority for all spiritual matters. God says what he means and mean what he says.
- Belief: We believe that our salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Our faith expresses itself in repentance and baptism in the name of Jesus. Repentance is a desire to turn away from our previous way of life and walk with God. Baptism is immersion in water for the remission of sins. We can do nothing to earn salvation – it is completely the work of God and must be accepted on His terms.
Salvation: Hear - Believe - Repent - Confess - Be Baptized - Live Faithfully
Worship
We place a high priority on worshiping God privately and together. It is our desire that our assemblies and our very lives offer praise to Him who has redeemed us.
Edification
We believe it is essential that every Christian grow in his or her walk with the Lord. We offer a variety of teaching and serving experiences to help in this vital maturing process.
Evangelism
We are committed to sharing with our immediate community and the entire world what God has done for us through Jesus Christ. We want everyone to understand how much they matter to God (Matthew 28:19-20).
Marriage is Between One Man and One Woman Only
God, from the beginning, created Man and Woman to be partnered together (Genesis 2:22-24). This is reiterated in the New Testament (Matthew 19:4-6; Mark 10:6-9) and clearly explained (1 Corinthians 7:2). Alternatives are not permitted and are not acceptable to God (Leviticus 18:22; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11; 17-20). Therefore, as God rejects “homosexual marriage”, so must His people and no such “marriage” is recognized by or permitted to be performed at this congregation. Deeming it legally acceptable in worldly courts does not make it acceptable to God or His people as the courts have no authority over God’s Inspired Word.
